Even When It’s Bad, It’s Good

mon

I don’t know what your Monday looks like.  I don’t know how your week is shaped; or what you feel about the month ahead. Using my mystical powers, I predict there will be challenges.  Personal, professional, relational, financial. Some will be manageable.  Others seem insurmountable. Some will sneak up from behind; and some have been scheduled in advance.

But whatever is coming: sickness, sadness, addiction, loss – here’s what we can count on.

‘I am the Lord your God.  I am holding your hand, so don’t be afraid.  I am here to help you’.

Isaiah 40:13.

The Lord describes Himself as ‘your God’.  The God who is For you; and For me.  In the office, in the classroom, in the supermarket, on foot and in the car. Whatever situation we’re in, He has got it and He has got us.

He is here: right now.  Tonight.  Tomorrow.  Next week.  Next year.

He loves us and He will help us, whatever we face.

I don’t know what you’re afraid of.  Life is scary – but God gets this.  He tells us not to be afraid; because He’s here and He’s not leaving.   This is true, even when we don’t feel it.  Especially then. We might let go of His hand, but He has hold of ours.
